New Portable Meter Makes the Most Common
Electrical Measurements on a Boat Easy to
Perform
Blue Sea Systems is bringing to the marine market its new portable clamp multimeter. The new Mini Clamp Multimeter is useful for troubleshooting AC and DC systems and for doing routine safety checks. In addition to measuring AC and DC voltage, and resistance, the meter also performs convenient clamp metering that allows measurement of AC and DC current in wires, without disturbing the circuits or contacting live terminals.

Protection for Inverters and Battery
Chargers

Because battery chargers, inverters, and inverter/chargers form an electrical bridge between a boat's AC and DC systems, proper AC and DC circuit grounding is important. This technical brief presents a discussion of the ABYC Standards to follow when wiring these devices.
